CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Without waiting another moment, Olivia immediately put a call in to Weston.

“I found something,” she announced breathlessly, “and I’ve got to speak to Tye immediately.”

“He’s still not at the hotel?” Weston answered fast.

“Not that I know of,” Olivia replied. “I don’t see him and he’s not in his room.”

“Where are you?” Weston sounded startled. “At his hotel?”

“Yes, I came by to see him,” said Olivia.

“Okay, wait a second, I’ll get you an answer,” Weston replied promptly.

Olivia waited for what seemed like forever for Weston to jump back on the other end of the phone.

“Nobody knows exactly where Tye is now,” Weston reported, “but there’s a club in town, the Wanderers. Go to the club in a couple of hours and most likely you’ll find Weston there.”

“What’s he doing at a club when his wife is missing?” Olivia couldn’t help but ask.

“Come on, Olivia.” Weston wasn’t pleased. “What’s the guy supposed to do? Never leave his room? Just sit there and drive himself crazy? I told you already, cut him some slack. What did you find out about him anyway?”

“I’ll tell you when I see you in person,” Olivia replied. “Who told you he would be at the Wanderers?”

“I’ll tell you that later as well,” Weston remarked.

Weston was great about many things. When things came to a boiling point, he’d jump right in. He was tight-lipped, though, held a lot close to the vest. Wayne was exactly the opposite of that.

“Anyway, go to the club in a couple of hours,” Weston repeated.

“Got it,” Olivia answered succinctly. “Thanks so much for finding out about it.”

“No problem,” Weston replied, sounding doubtful that Olivia would find much of anything at the club at all.
